  • Women’s Volleyball Breezes Past Southern Maine and UMaine-Presque Isle

    GORHAM, ME – The Western Connecticut State University women’s volleyball team improved to 9-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play after cruising to a pair of victories on Saturday. The Colonials opened Little East Conference play with a 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 25-18, 25-20) win over host Southern Maine before breezing past UMaine-Presque Isle, 3-0 (25-5, 25-5, 25-14). 
  • Brochu & Chenard Guide Women’s Volleyball to 3-1 Win Over Conn. College

    DANBURY, CT – Juniors Ali Brochu (Winsted, CT) and Nicolina Chenard (Ardsley, NY) each tallied 11 kills to guide the Western Connecticut State University women’s volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-10, 25-20) victory over visiting non-league foe Connecticut College on Wednesday night at Feldman Arena. With the win, the Colonials improved to 7-3 overall while the Camels sank to 4-3.

    PAWTUCKET, RI - Western Connecticut State University freshman setter Rory McMaster (Canton, MI) has been named Little East Conference Volleyball Rookie of the Week, for the third straight week to open the season.
  • Chenard Leads Charge as WestConn Women’s Volleyball Edges Vassar, Falls to No. 16 Wesleyan

    DANBURY, CT – The Western Connecticut State University women’s volleyball squad fell to visiting 16th-ranked Wesleyan University, 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-14) before rebounding to outlast another non-league foe in Vassar College, 3-2 (25-23, 25-22, 15-25, 23-25, 15-7) on Saturday at Feldman Arena. Junior outside hitter Nicolina Chenard (Ardsley, NY) stepped up to lead the Colonials with eight kills against the Cardinals and a match-high 16 versus the Brewers. 
  • Women’s Volleyball Rally Falls Short Against SUNY-Morrisville, 3-2

    DANBURY, CT – Despite team-highs of 13 kills apiece from juniors Victoria Korzan (Southbury, CT) and Ali Brochu (Winsted, CT), the Western Connecticut State University women’s volleyball squad fell to visiting non-conference opponent SUNY-Morrisville, 3-2 (25-17, 26-24, 23-25, 16-25, 16-14) on Friday evening at Feldman Arena. The Colonials nearly completed the rally but came up just short, dropping to 5-2 overall. The Mustangs improved to 5-2. 
  • Women’s Volleyball Suffers First Loss at Trinity, 3-0

    HARTFORD, CT – The Western Connecticut State University women’s volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season at non-league foe Trinity College on Wednesday night, 3-0 (25-15, 25-8, 25-14). With the loss, the Colonials moved to 5-1 overall while the Bantams went to 3-2.

  • Women’s Volleyball Surges Past Penn-State Abington and St. Joseph’s

    PATCHOGUE, NY – Junior Ali Brochu (Winsted, CT) buried match-highs of 11 and 12 kills in wins over Penn-State Abington and St. Joseph’s (LI), respectively, as the Western Connecticut State University women’s volleyball team improved to 5-0 overall on Saturday. The Colonials blanked the Nittany Lions, 3-0 (25-16, 25-9, 25-19) before shutting out the Golden Eagles, 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-22).

  • Korzan Tabbed All-Tournament MVP as Women’s Volleyball Captures Colonial Classic Crown

    DANBURY, CT – Junior Victoria Korzan (Southbury, CT) tallied match-highs of 10 and nine kills against Penn State Berks and Smith College, respectively, as the Western Connecticut State University women’s volleyball team captured the Colonial Classic crown on Saturday at Feldman Arena. WestConn blanked the Nittany Lions, 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-17) before shutting out the Pioneers, 3-0 (25-12, 25-23, 25-19) as they improved to 3-0 overall to begin the season.
  • WestConn Netters Picked To Finish Fourth In LEC Coaches' Poll

    PAWTUCKET, R.I. –  The Western Connecticut State University women's volleyball team has been selected to finish fourth according to the 2019 Little East Conference  Women's Volleyball Pre-season Coaches' Poll, release recently. The Colonials (17-10, 5-3 LEC) finished with 37 points in this year's rankings.
  • Brochu’s 17 Kills Lead Women’s Volleyball to Season Opening 3-1 Win Over Emmanuel in Colonial Classic

    DANBURY, CT – Junior Ali Brochu (Winsted, CT) buried a match-high 17 kills to lead the Western Connecticut State University women’s volleyball squad to a season opening 3-1 (25-19, 25-23, 21-25, 25-11) victory over visiting Emmanuel College in Day One of the Colonial Classic on Friday at Feldman Arena. Classmate Nicolina Chenard (Ardsley, NY) chipped in with 13 floors, while rookie setter Rory McMaster (Canton, MI) dished out a match-high 35 assists in her debut.
  • WestConn Vollyeball To Host High School Pre-season Prep Clinic In August

    The Western Connecticut State University women's volleyball program and its head coach Don Ferguson will host the High School Volleyball Preseason Prep Clinic for high school girls, grades 9 through 12.
