Shawn Stillman ('94) was named Head Women's Tennis Coach at his alma mater Western Connecticut State University in 2013, and enters his fourth season as the head coach of the men's team after taking over that program in the spring of 2015.

In 2015, the WestConn men's tennis program finished the regular season 2-9, 0-5 in the LEC.  At the helm of the women's program, Stillman has a 14-43 overall record.

Stillman, a 1994 graduate with a degree in Communication-Human Relations, was a member of the Colonials' men's tennis program from 1990 to 1993.

During his career, under the tutelage of legendary coach George McLean, WestConn went 20-23 and he was an all-league selection in 1993 as the Colonials top singles player.

Stillman, currently the Director of Neighborhood Assisance for the city of Danbury, has 24 years experience teaching and coaching tennis in the Danbury area.

He has been the Assistant Tennis Professional at Ridgewood Country Club, managed club operations at Beaver Brook Tennis Club for eight years and was Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Redding for over three years.

Stillman takes over a program, which completes during the fall semester, that has won one match over the past two seasons.

"My objective is to get tennis players back on the court here at WestConn," stressed Stillman. "When I get the interest back, I will get this program back on track and we will be competitive again."

In 2010, the Colonials went 13-1, won the Little East Conference regular-season and tournament championship and made the programs first appearance in the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
