PAWTUCKET, RI - Western Connecticut State University seniors Andrea DeVoe (Farmington, CT) and Autumn Sorice (Bethel, CT) have been named Little East Conference Women's Soccer Defensive and Offensive Players of the week, for the week ending October 1.
The Colonials are currently 11-0 overall and 3-0 in Little East Conference action.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Andrea DeVoe (Farmington, Conn.), Senior, Western Connecticut
The senior midfielder led a defensive united that yielded just one goal in each of their three games last week, while contributing two goals and two assists in the three victories. She set up both goals in a 2-1 win over Worcester State and netted a pair of goals in a 4-1 LEC win over UMass Dartmouth.
On the season, DeVoe is second on the team with 16 total points. She has five goals and six assists and has scored a pair of game-winning goals.
Autumn Sorice (Bethel, Conn.), Senior, Western Connecticut
Autumn Sorice scored three goals, two of which were the game-winner, and assisted on another in a 3-0-0 week for the Colonials. She scored the game-winner in a 2-1 non-conference victory over Wentworth, and netted two goals with one assist in a 4-1 LEC win over UMass Dartmouth on Saturday.
Sorice, the two-time defending LEC Offensive Player of the Year, leads the Colonials with nine goals, six assists and 24 total points. She has scored four game-winners through 11 victories.
