    DANBURY, CT - Junior goalie Neve Manion (Newington, CT) made nine saves on her way to a shutout as the Western Connecticut State University field hockey team defeated visiting Plymouth State University, 2-0 in the Little East Conference opener for both teams at the Westside Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon.

    POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – After beginning the season with four wins, the Western Connecticut State University field hockey squad was downed at eighth-ranked Vassar College, 2-1, on Wednesday evening. With the loss, the Colonials dropped to 4-1 overall while the Brewers improved to 5-0.

Four different Colonials netted goals as the team improved to 3-0 overall. Elms dropped to 0-2.

    DANBURY, CT - For the second time in fewer than 24 hours, Morgan Matthews (Bethel, CT) scored the game-winning goal. On Saturday, the senior forward scored with 18 seconds remaining in the first overtime to lift the Western Connecticut State University field hockey team to a thrilling 3-2 victory over William Paterson University at the Westside Athletic Complex.
