MAHWAH, NJ - The Western Connecticut State University field hockey team dropped a 2-0 non-conference, make-up decision at Ramapo College on Friday afternoon.
WestConn is left to wait on Saturday's action in the Little East Conference to see if it will host, or be on the road for the LEC Tournament, which is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 30.
On Friday, Melissa Choka and Keill Ratkosik each scored a goal for the Roadrunners.
At the four minute mark, Choka scored off a penalty corner initiated by Jessica Cacoso.
In the early moments of the second stanza, Ratkowski scored her second goal of the season, off a feed from Melissa Doran, to put Ramapo up, 2-0.
"Our team came out flat and was never able to garner any momentum," stated WestConn head coach Dani McDonnell. "Ramapo out played us from start to finiah. We need to get our momentum back for Tuesday's conference playoff game.
Neve Manion (Newington, CT) suffered the loss after allowing both goals over the first 46:29. She made eight saves before yielding to Samantha Ripegno (Stamford, CT) for the final minutes. She made seven saves in less than 24 minutes in the cage.
