Women’s Lacrosse Utilizes Well-Balanced Scoring Attack to Outlast Morrisville State, 13-12

CLEARWATER, FL – After a tough 13-10 loss to open the spring trip on Sunday night, the Western Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team rebounded to edge Morrisville State, 13-12, on Tuesday afternoon to finish off the trip down south. Seven different players tallied goals for the Colonials who improved to 3-1 overall.

Junior midfielder Brooke Baldelli (New Fairfield, CT) continued her red-hot start as she netted a game-high four goals to lead WestConn. Senior midfielder Lauren Bradshaw (Bethel, CT) added a hat trick, while sophomore Caroline Galligan (Marshfield, MA) chipped in with a pair of scoring strikes.

"Today was an incredible team win. We had seven different scorers and everyone, from the bench to the field, stepped up," said WestConn head coach Jenn Thomas following the contest. "Baldelli, Bradshaw and Samantha Lawlor created offensive opportunities by winning a combined 13 draw controls. Mia Schumey and Amber Andrews contributed by scoring one goal each in critical situations," she added. "All in all, it was a fantastic team effort," she concluded.

The Colonials will return home for an 11-day layoff until they travel to non-conference foe Worcester State on Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m.
