DANBURY, CT -- Sophomore Will Hogan (Ridgefield, Conn.) and senior Chauncey Allers (Wilton, Conn.) accounted for the Western Connecticut State University men's tennis points in its loss 7-2 to visiting University of Massachusetts Dartmouth at Westside Courts on Saturday afternoon. Both overcame first set deficits in their respective number one and three singles matches to triumph in pro set tiebreakers.
Hogan defeated Eli Brooks 5-7, 7-5 and 10-6 at top-flight singles while Allers defeated Baylen Harper, 2-6, 6-1, 10-6 in the three hole of solos.
WestConn drops to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the Little East Conference.
"All of the doubles matches were very close and could have gone either way. Unfortunately we didn't win any of them and started singles play down 0-3," said WestConn head coach Shawn Stillman. "We need to be able to close out those tight matches."
