NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Dante Postorino (Huntington, NY) and Matt Mancini (Waterbury, CT) each drove in three runs and the Western Connecticut State University baseball team went on to defeat the College of New Rochelle, 14-8 in a non-conference chiller at windy Flowers Park on Thursday night.

Postorino went 3-for-4 with a triple and scored two runs while Mancini went 2-for-5 for the 4-14 Colonials.

Joining the 15-hit attack were Andrew Luis (Danbury, CT), Erik Merrill (Poughkeepsie, NY) and Jake Babon (Southington, CT) with a pair of hits.  Luis delivered WestConn's only other extra-base hit, drilling a double after putting the Colonials up, 5-0, with a two-RBI single in the top of the second inning.

Sophomore righty Mike Hendler (Purchase, NY) earned the victory and is now 2-1 on the season.  He allowed one run on five hits and struck out five over the first five innings.

Kienan Giller (Willington, CT) moped up the final inning and gave up a pair of runs, one of them earned, on a hit, struck out one and walked another.
